Property class 8.8 bolts: strength, marking and nut
← Back to standards and grades
Property class 8.8 is the most common in industrial metric fasteners. The first figure gives the nominal tensile strength (8 = 800 MPa) and the second the ratio to the yield strength (0.8), that is, 640 MPa.
It is marked on the bolt head and combined with a class 8 nut. We supply it in DIN 931, DIN 933 and their ISO equivalents.
| Property class | Tensile strength | Yield strength | Nut |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8.8 | 800 MPa | 640 MPa | Class 8 |
| 10.9 | 1000 MPa | 900 MPa | Class 10 |
| 12.9 | 1200 MPa | 1080 MPa | Class 12 |
